2005 saddest movie moments

I found this article about the saddest movie moments of 2005. Surprisingly (because you know how much the media loves to diss Star Wars), my saddest movie moment EVER, Revenge of the Sith, was Number 2 on the list. Beware, the list contains spoilers for other movies.

Here is the excerpt:

2. Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith: The denouement. It's sad enough to watch as Padme (Natalie Portman) dies in childbirth, Anakin (Hayden Christensen) nearly dies and is reborn as Darth Vader, and Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) successfully seizes power to become emperor. Sadder still for a generation of moviegoers is the realization that the screen saga they've followed for 28 years is finished — these cherished movie characters now belong irrevocably, like childhood, to the past.

::sniff:: Why did they have to make me remember that there's no more new Star Wars??? :(

Oh, and Harry Potter fans, Goblet of Fire was Number 4.

Um, besides the Clone Wars animated series, there's a live-action tv series in the works cataloging early Vader, I believe. Lucas is in on it. At least that's the buzz here in Hollywood. I don't have a TV so what the hell do I know?

Oh, I see. You didn't mean Star Wars was over, but the major motion pictures were gone. Sorry, context clues not my friend today for some reason. ^^;;

No problem. :) Yeah, even though I'm (very) into the expanded universe, nothing will ever take the place of the movies. And it's sad. :(

Yeah, I can't wait for C4, but it's sad that the movies are over. :p

I'm going to see Brokeback Mountain next week. I'm prepared for tissues!
