The Dark Nest Trilogy

Found an interesting little excerpt from Sue Rostoni, one of the higher-ups at Lucas Books, about Luke's role in the upcoming trilogy, especially The Swarm War.

"As for Luke, he will have to prove, in a lightning display of Force strength and swordsmanship, that he is- beyond a shadow of a doubt-the greatest Jedi Master in the galaxy."

It's a new trilogy by Troy Denning called The Dark Nest Trilogy. It takes place after NJO, about five years I think. I thought it sounded dumb at first, but as I've read more excerpts I've become more and more excited about it. I was afraid the younger Jedi would have a bigger role and the older characters would be left to do nothing, but apparently Luke, Han, Leia and Mara all have prominent roles kicking ass.

Sheesh. I guess I got so used to only hearing about Prequel novels that I didn't care about and forgot to turn my ears back on. That sounds promising, I'll have to look into it. :-)

Two other upcoming books sound intriguing: Dark Lord, The Rise of Darth Vader by James Luceno and Outbound Flight by, who else?, the EU master. :)

I did know about Outbound Flight. I'm like a hawkbat when it comes to hearing his name. And I will probably buy it in hardcover, since I bought the last one in hardcover.

Did you hear about the other Star Wars book he's going to write? It's called Allegiance, and is set after ANH and features Vader and Mara Jade in her prime as the Emperor's Hand. :D

Okay, the Del Ray site sucks. They don't mention anything newer than Revenge of the Sith. Where are you finding information on new novels? *confused look* I did sign up for the newsletter, but I swear I did that several years ago at Dragon*Con, but it must have never gone through.

And my business meeting is suddenly much more entertaining - thank you for that site. I'm totally excited about new books now! And Allston is writing more next year! Yay!! And the comment by Sue Rostinni about 60 being the new 40 is AWESOME. Our heroes aren't going to be treated like old geezers!!
