So, I love it.

I still have some problems with it. Like, Padme should have lived for a little while longer. And she should have held Leia at least. Grrr.

The "NOOOOOO" didn't bother me. The Frankenstein walk still did.

I still really would have liked to see Obi-Wan and Yoda hear the news that Vader survived.

I've accepted Anakin's turn. Obi-Wan saying "You did that yourself!" and calling Anakin power-hungry was what sealed the deal for me.

I've decided that I am completely masochistic because my favorite scenes are the Order 66 montage (why not just go all the way and call it Order 666?) and the Immolation Scene. Seeing all the Jedi betrayed was so incredibly heartwrenching. And what else can I see about The Immolation Scene? Anakin yelling "I hate you." Obi-Wan's dialogue. Quite possibly the most emotional dialogue of all the movies. "You were the chosen one! You were supposed to bring balance to Force! You were supposed to destroy the Sith, not become one! You were my brother! I loved you!" I cried again. It's so freaking sad.

The book totally sucks up the immolation scene so bad. I actually think they might have done it wrong! Actually, the book is kinda weird. I think Lucas must have given him a really early draft or something, because some things are just plain left out of the book.

Hmmm, I have to read it.

I know what you mean. I'm only on chapter five and I've already noticed differences. But that usually happens with novelizations. Lucas gives the guy the story then goes back for reshoots later and changes things. Also, editing probably mucks things up.

I haven't read the post. I just wanted to comment to say that I haven't seen it yet, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to. So thank you for putting spoilers behind a cut. :o)

In the new "Last of the Jedi" series there's a brief mention of Obi-Wan finding out, months later, on a trip to Mos Eisley that Anakin didn't die. He found a datarecorder of a HoloNet report with Vader's image or something. But yeah, I would have liked to see it in the film. Gah, can you imagine how the angst level would have risen though? lol

I may pick this up as well. I never read the Jedi Apprentice books, but this storyline intrigues me. :)

There's only one book out yet, but so far I really liked it. I loved the JA series (in particular the first 10 books) but I wasn't a huge fan of JQ ones. I read them, don't get me wrong, but I didn't enjoy them as much. But the new LotJ one felt more JA style, a little darker I guess.

I still really would have liked to see Obi-Wan and Yoda hear the news that Vader survived.

That makes me wonder. If O. Kenobi (hehe) left Anakin to die, thinking that he would die and not be rescued by Palpatine, why did they hid the twins? Did they think Palpatine might go after them? I think I'm just not putting two and two together, or that greater understanding relies on having read everything.

Whatever. Han Solo is hot.

LOL.

I think O. and Yoda figured that they would need to be safe from the Emperor. If he knew about Jedi babies, he'd certainly come after them.

Okay, after enough times I've got it memorized:

"You were the chosen one! It was said you would destroy the Sith, not become one! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!"

"I hate you!"

"You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."

TEARS AHOY.

My mom really liked it. We saw it in digital projection. Pretty. :)

Um Hi - I'm here via [livejournal.com profile] padawan_alli :)

I just had to agree with you about the Order 66 and Immolation scene. I honestly think that they are the best scenes out of the movie (I mean I loved the movies as a whole as well) but the Immolation scene has me in tears.

and after considerable thought (and now I think I know why I haven't slept well letely - too much thinking), I can accept Anakins turn now. It took me a while but I finally figured out he just got to greedy. Like Palpatine said the only thing powerful people fear is to lose the power and I think that is what happened to Anakin.

um I'll stop rambling now :)
