30 Days of Star Wars Day 25-30
Sep. 7th, 2010 06:14 pmRounding it up!
Day 25: Your favorite cartoon adaptation
I really like the new Clone Wars cartoon. I was skeptical about it, but I'm really enjoying it.
Day 26: Most heart breaking moment
movies: "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you." Cue me crying on the floor. :(
EU: Leia’s reaction to the death of Anakin Solo. I didn't think I could be sadder after Anakin died, until I turned to the next chapter. :(
Day 27: Most heroic moment
Darth Vader kills the Emperor
Day 28: Least favorite moment
The death of Mara Jade Skywalker. Poorly done and part of a rehashed, dumb storyline. The EU sorely misses her.
Day 29: How would you introduce a new comer to Star Wars
Have them sit back, relax, and watch A New Hope.
Day 30: What would you like to see regarding the future of Star Wars
I still want an X-Wing TV series! For books, I'd like to see them go back and explore the six years between Vision of the Future and New Jedi Order, and the five years between NJO and the Dark Nest Trilogy. I would also like them to wipe clean everything post-NJO and do a reboot, but I think I'll just stick to fanfiction for that wish. ;)

Date: 2010-09-11 11:37 am (UTC)However, the post-ROTJ time for our big three heroes is growing short, and I think they realize that. By stepping away from long series, I think they will go back and do stand-alone books that take place in established parts of the timeline, like Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor & Allegiance did, or filling in some of the blanks like I said. Maybe eventually, they'll do an infinities-type series. While I enjoyed the NJO as a whole, I would love to see a universe where Anakin Solo was still alive, and Jacen wasn't an idiot. I've been reading a bunch of fanfic lately, and all the stories with Jacen make me so sad. :(

Date: 2010-09-11 11:21 pm (UTC)I know that they have some comics that are considered infinities. Personally, I never liked the idea until recently, when I started reading some AUs on the TF.N fanfiction boards. I was really impressed with how well-written some of them were. I'm currently reading one that focuses on Jag/Jaina during the NJO (and REALLY makes me like Jaina) and one that tackles the question "what if Mara had gotten on the sail barge in ROTJ". While I would love for some professional authors to tackle AU (especially a story in which Timothy Zahn gets to write Mara's death scene!), I'll be satisfied if they give him Zahn the opportunity to write the long-fabled Skywalker family novel set in between Dark Nest and LOTF.
Lol...can you tell I've missed geeking out over the EU?
