catching up on 30 Days of Star Wars

Okay. This is difficult. There's no way I can narrow this down to one. So I'm doing this by movie:
TPM: The duel begins. Door opens, Darth Maul is standing there. BUM BUM! BUM BUM! BUM BUM! BUM BUM BUM! "We'll handle this." "We'll take the long way."
AOTC: People seem to hate this movie, but there are scenes in here that I loooooove: the confrontation between Obi-Wan and Jango and the confrontation between Obi-Wan and Dooku are two of them. But I think I have to pick the end sequence from the scene with Obi-Wan, Mace, and Yoda in the council, Palpatine overlooking the new army, and the wedding. Add in the fabulous music, and I just want to watch it over and over.
ROTS: Because I'm a masochist, The Immolation Scene. It is perfectly done. I had heard "You were the chosen one!" in trailers, so I was prepared for it. But when Obi-Wan starts to walk away, grabs the lightsaber, and says "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you!" oh I LOST it. I looked at my friend sitting next to me and we both whimpered at each other. Poor, poor Obi-Wan.
ANH: Binary Sunset. To me, it's the defining scene of the movies.
ESB: Yoda's "luminous beings" speech.
ROTJ: The final duel between Luke and Vader, or as I call it, Luke goes nuts. I love the music, I love the emotion, and at the end, Luke resists the dark side.
Honorable mention: Luke jumps off the skiff, flips throug the air, raises up his arm, catches his new lightsaber, looks at it, ignites it, and then hacks his way through Jabba's lackeys.
EU honorable mention: Luke decapitates Shimmra, The Unifying Force. The perfect end to the New Jedi Order series. I didn't realize until I read it in the Wookieepedia article that Anakin killed Dooku in the same manner.

A Lost Hope
Day 21: Most memorable John Williams music
Again, this is SUPER hard. I love all the music, but of course I have my favorite themes and other pieces of music. The Imperial March is iconic. Dark Side Beckons is a beautiful piece of music for the climax of ROTJ. The Immolation Scene makes me want to cry just listening to it. The funeral music fits the scenes perfectly. Who doesn't smile when they hear Cantina Band or Duel of the Fates? And of course the Main Theme, or Luke's theme. The list goes on and on and on....
If I have to just pick ONE piece, I think I have to pick the Force theme. It's used all throughout the six films at super important moments - binary sunset, the throne room scene, funeral pyre of ROTJ, the end of ROTS. From the time that the prequels were first announced, I was adamant that the last movie had to end with the twin sunset and the Force theme playing. I got a leaked version of the ROTS soundtrack, and when I heard the Force theme at the end, I literally started jumping up and down. I was so happy to hear it there, and, sure enough, that's how the film ended. Looking back I think, how could they NOT end it like that?

Day 23: Your favorite Jedi
Luke is my favorite character, so you think he'd be my favorite Jedi, right? Nope. Okay, maybe Mara Jade Skywalker? Nope, not her either.
I have to pick "The Negotiator" -
And it's not just because he's pretty. (Although, look at those eyes.)
It's also not because I think he's freaking badass, either.
Whichever way we watch the saga, Obi-Wan is the first Jedi we are introduced to (along with Qui-Gon in TPM of course). I think because of that, I have always thought of Obi-Wan as the epitome of what a Jedi should be. I think that there are way more powerful Jedi, and I like other characters more, but when I picture a Jedi, I immediately think of Obi-Wan. And he's not perfect, either, which makes me like him even more.
