Date: 2006-02-17 09:11 am (UTC)It may have to do with eligibility requirements... to be nominated for Original Score, the majority of the music must be written specifically for the film submitted. Since I know he reuses a lot of his themes (especially since it's one in a series), there just may not have been enough original music for it to get the nom. I know there was some confusion regarding that rule a few years ago when Howard Shore got snubbed for LOTR: The Two Towers.
And he already received two other nominations in the category. Let's not be piggy.
